A balanced diet to consider should primarily include healthy food selections such as fruits and vegetables. The combination of both can give a great boost of healthy cells and effective prevention of unnecessary blood clotting.

2. Control blood cholesterol levels

The individual is advised to always ensure keeping blood pressure under check along with making sure that blood cholesterol levels is monitored.

A high blood pressure places a person vulnerable to unwanted blood clotting processes due to a tendency for breaking of blood vessels that seem feeble as blood circulates around the body.

Smoking of cigarette causes health problems in many ways including harmful effects on the blood vessels. In fact, a person who smokes can develop abnormalities in blood coagulation.

An increase in the amount of carbon monoxide and high levels of nicotine entering the body creates higher chances for the development of unnecessary blood clot. The presence of both substances in the body elevates the plasma fibrinogen, making them vulnerable to unwanted blood clot formation.

5. Maintain normal BMI

Women who experience severe bleeding during monthly periods, or those who have problems with their uterus are advised to use options that are not hormone-based.

8. Consult a doctor if at risk of blood clot formation

You should talk to a doctor or medical professional about ways on how to prevent unwanted blood clots. If the doctor feels you are at a high risk of developing abnormal blood clots or blood-related disorders, the doctor may decide to put you under a medication course.

The doctor will recommend prescriptions depending on assessment of the individual at risk. Over-the-counter prescription may be provided to allow patients to be under medication on their own but with the same plan of preventing the occurrence of unwanted blood clots.

9. Natural treatment options

Natural treatment using garlic can be considered as a home remedy against blood clotting. Properties contained in garlic can be helpful in the prevention and treatment of different medical conditions including cardiovascular diseases.

Natural therapies may help reducing the risk of a blood clot but full treatment against clotting disorders hasn’t been proven yet.

The intake of alcohol should strictly be in small amounts since increased percentage of alcohol in the body can be dangerous to the person’s health. Drinking more than two servings a day increases the risk of stroke. Blood components like platelets become sticky hence, increasing the chances of blood clot formation.
